What is Yoga?
“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.” — The Bhagavad Gita
Yoga (‘yoke’, 'union’ or ‘to join’), is an ancient eastern practice which cultivates wellness in the body and mind….
What is Breathwork?
"Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites your body to your thoughts." — Thich Nhat Hanh
Breathwork (pranayama) is a yoga fundamental, but often overlooked. It is so important it deserves a space without movement, as a practice...
What is Sound?
"Music and sound are the highest forms of yoga. Sound vibrations can cure physical illnesses and bring peace to a disturbed mind." — Swami Sivananda
'Sound Healing’ or 'Sound Therapy’ (in group classes often referred to as a 'Sound Bath' or 'Sound Journey') is a complementary practice that uses special instruments, such as, singing bowls, gongs, drums...
Making Yoga Accessible
"Anybody can breathe, therefore anybody can practice yoga" — T.K.V Desikachar
Caroline's philosophy has always been to make yoga truly accessible, so EveryBody (regardless of age, size, shape or flexibility) can benefit from this...

What to expect during a group class?
During a group class we usually start lying on our back to settle into the space and embody a sense of grounding. This will involve breath awareness (pranayama) and body scanning (interoception).
We then begin the physical element of yoga with a mixture of supine, seated, kneeling and standing poses (asanas). I like to integrate 'movement with breath' within some of the physical yoga practice to create a moving meditation. Other parts of the practice will be more 'still' to encourage strength and cultivate resilience.
Different breathing practices (pranayama) will be introduced in classes. Breathwork is a fundamental element of yoga as our breath (prana) is the energy within our body. This energy can be manipulated with different breathing practices to help calm the nervous system, open areas of the body and move stagnant energy.
I use a variety of props in all my classes; yoga blocks, bricks and straps. These are used to support your body in poses so you can achieve the best version of the pose to suit your body.
Towards the end you will enjoy a relaxation (savasana) to allow the practice to integrate into your body and mind, and leave you feeling rested, rejuvenated and ready to continue your day.
What do I wear?
Wear anything that is comfortable and does not restrict your movement.
I am not flexible, can I practice yoga?
Absolutely! Yoga will give you flexibility, but you do not have to be flexible to practice yoga.
What do I need to bring with me?
A yoga mat, a bottle of water and yourself are key! Please also bring any other yoga props you have, like a yoga brick, block and strap. Some people like to bring a blanket or cushion for relaxation.
