Yoga and Mindful Art Workshops

Unite your creative inner self with your love of yoga’

Throughout 2022 I will be combining my passion of art (from my Art Degree) with my love of yoga to bring you a series of workshops focussing on our chakras. Chakras, translated as ‘wheels’ or ‘disks’, are points within our body which house our energy. There are seven main chakras which are situated along our spine, from the base of our spine to the crown of our head. Each chakra corresponds to a specific organ within the body as well as a certain emotion, element and body sense. Each chakra also has it’s own colour, symbol and sound attached to it.

In order to keep the physical body healthy we must look after our chakras as a dis-eased part of the body will have a negative impact on the rest of our physical and energetic self.

In this series of seven workshops we will look at each chakra one at a time.

What to Expect
During the workshop you will be led through a focused yoga asana practice which will bring your awareness to the part of your body that relates to the chakra we are focussing on. Following on from the yoga practice I will guide you through a creative process to make your very own mandala which will use colours, shapes and symbols relating to the chakra. You do not need to be artistic for this as the majority of the process uses a compass and ruler!

You will then enjoy a meditation using your mandala as a point of focus, which will lead into a full Savasana (relaxation).

What to Bring
All materials will be provided and you can take home your mandala. All you need to bring is your yoga mat and a sense of creativity.

Where and When
The workshops are £25 for two hours and will be held at two different venues, The Self Centre (The Morton Hall Estate, Bury St Edmunds) and The Erskine Centre (Chedburgh).

The workshops will run roughly every 4-5 weeks, with the same chakra being the focus at both venues concurrently to allow you to attend either venue to suit your availability.
